Welcome to 1960sTvShows.com Hi there! My name is Tom Settle and am a self-confessed classic TV addict. It started as a child growing up the 1970s and continues to this day. A little about me. I began collecting the old digest-sized TV Guide magazine back in 1973. My hobby continued until they switched to a national tabloid in 2005. I recall being called the "walking TV Guide" in elementary school. Every week, I would wait for that prized mag to arrive in the mail and I would devour it. I knew our local TV listings inside and out (pretty easy in retrospect, as we only had 5 channels on cable!) Nobody could have predicted it, but this crazy obsession paid off. In the early 90s, I became a stations editor for TV Guide...a dream come true! Then, in 1993, my hobby was vindicated on Seinfeld episode #74. George Costanza's father Frank confessed that he too was a collector of TV Guide. Fast forward to 2012. Although I subscribe to satellite TV, these days my TV is glued to either MeTV, Netflix or my stash of classic TV DVDs. I have tried, but I have virtually no interest in any modern-day television programs. To coin a 60s term, its just not my bag, man! This website is something I've been kicking around for a long time. I finally decided to get things started, and plan to roll it out a few pages at a time. Each page will be dedicated to one classic 1960s series, starting out with some of my favorites and then delving into other long-lost classics. Thanks again for visiting and as they say, stay tuned! |
